1) Development can mean many things. In the most basic terms it means economic development in terms of employment, per capita incomes.
2) In terms of Human development, provision of basic sanitation, housing and health also come under development.
3) Social and economic development goes hand in hand as mere economic development without social development will lead to large inequalities.
4) Forms of development include State sponsored capitalism (South Korea), State sponsored socialism (China) and mix of both private and public sector (India).
