A glycosidic linkage joins a carbohydrate molecule to another group which may or may not be another carbohydrate.
Phosphodiester linkage joins nucleotides to one another. The 5' carbon atom of one nucleotide is joined to the 3' carbon atom of the adjacent nucleotide.
