According to Principle of Moments ,"For a system to be in rotational equilibrium then the sum of clockwise and anticlockwise moments around a fixed point should be equal . Where a moment is defined as product of Force and distance from the fixed point."
The principle of moments states that when in equilibrium the total sum of the anti clock wise moment is equal to the total sum of the clockwise moment. When a system is stable or balance it is said to be in equilibrium as all the forces acting on the system cancel each other out.
