Radio carbon dating is a technique of finding out the age of organic matters like wood, leather etc. by comparing the amount of radio carbon or carbon – 14 present in living organisms. This technique is frequently used to determine the age of organic remains in archeological sites. In nature carbon is found in various forms and is present in living organisms. Radio carbon dating is only possible with the materials that were once associated with living things. This means, materials like stone, metal etc cannot be dated with radio carbon.
