Stomataare small pores present in the epidermis of leaves. They regulate the process of transpiration and gaseous exchange. Thestomatal pore is enclosed between two bean-shaped guard cells. Thepores, the guard cells, and the subsidiary cells together constitutethe stomatal apparatus.
