What is the advantage of bagging of the emasculated flowers during hybridization experiments?
Hybridization is the process of mating of two specific kinds of species resulting in the production of plants having specific characteristic. So, it requires the transfer of pollens from a particular plant to the stigma of the other. Thus, the emasculated flowers are bagged during hybridization experiments to avoid the entry of unwanted pollens into the ovary of the flower which may otherwise produce plants with unwanted characteristic.
