Question

What is the difference between fluid friction and static friction ?

Open in App
Solution

static friction is the friction present between two solid surfaces when they are in contact and is present upto the time the surfaces are in contact irrespective of the fact that they are in relative motion or not. The reason for the static friction is the surface unevenness.

fluid friction is the friction that is present between the different layers of the fluid as the fluid flows but if a fluid at rest then there is no friction between it's layers. The reason for the fluid friction is viscosity.
