The difference between Meibomian and Ceruminuos glands
The meibomian glands are a special kind of sebaceous gland present at the rim of the eyelids which is responsible for the supply of meibum, Meibum is an oily substance that prevents evaporation of the eye's tear film.Meibum prevents tear falling on the cheek, trapping tears between the oiled edge and the eyeball, and makes the closed lids airtight.
Ceruminous glands are specialized sudoriferous glands (sweat glands) located subcutaneously in the external auditory canal. They secrete cerumen, or earwax, which keeps the ear drum pliable and cleans the outer auditory canal.
