Dear student!
We can not differentiate between a molecule and an element as the molecule is the smallest form which represents an element. However, a molecule of a compound is different from the element which can be simply described by common difference in element and a compound because a molecule is the smallest unit of the compound too.
Element Compound It is the purest form of matter which is made up of similar types of atoms. The compound is also the pure form of matter but it is made up of two or more different types of elements in a fixed ratio by their masses. For ex: H, Na, C, Fe etc For ex: NaCl, CH4 , CO2 etc.
