Solution

Nascent oxygen is the single atom of oxygen denoted by 'O'.It is highly reactive species. As we know that Oxygen exist in nature as O2 molecule. So O2 is the most stable form of O2.
1/2 O2 means 1/2 molecule of diatomic oxygen O2. Generally 1/2 O2 is used in balancing the equation. But actually it is molecular form of oxygen only. It is as stable as diatomic oxygen O2.
