Porins are proteins that act as a pore through which molecules pass through cellular membrane. These are present in the outer membrane of bacteria, mitochondria nad chloroplast.

Aquaporins are protein molecules embedded in the cell membrane which allows the flow of water molecules. These are found in the cell membrane of plant and animal cells.
