Question

What is the difference between Ring system of wiring and Tree system of wiring ?

Open in App
Solution

In the ring system ,wiring is placed in the form of ring. Wires starting from the main fuse box, containing a fuse of 30 amp run around all the rooms in the house and are brought back to the main fuse box.In this system,if the fuse blows off, only that appliance is to be checked. This system involves less wiring and is cheaper to set up.

In the tree system of wiring different branch lines are taken from the distribution board to different parts of the house. In this system if a fuse blows off, two or more appliances have to be checked. Too many wires of different ratings crowd into the distribution box from different sections of the house.
