What is the difference between umbilical cord and placenta??

Placenta:- It is a temporary organ made up of special tissues that joins the fetus and the mother. It transfers oxygen and nutrients from the mother to the fetus, and permits the release of carbon dioxide and waste products from the fetus into the mother's blood.

Umbilical cord:- It is present in placental mammals as a connecting link between the developing foetus and placenta of mother.
