The alimentary canal includes the oral cavity, pharynx, oesophagus (which includes a crop in some of the birds), stomach (proventriculus & gizzard), small intestine and large intestine. The large intestine then open into the cloaca. Important accessory structures includes the beak, salivary glands, liver and pancreas.
