what is the effect of density, humidity, pressure, temperature on velocity of sound waves?

Solution
Humidity decides the number of water molecules in air. Speed of sound is directly proportional to humidity. Because of humidity , there is 0.1 to 0.6 times change in speed of sound. Speed of sound in an ideal gas doesn't depend on pressure and density of medium. The individual contribution of these two factors in determining the speed of sound is countered by each other. The vibration of molecules is accelerated with rise in temperature . Thus, increase in vibrational motion of particles means there would be an increase in speed of sound.
