What is the function of vacuoles?
Vacuoles are found in the cytoplasm of cells they are surrounded by a membrane. Their main function is the storage of food, water & waste material. In Plants the vacuole is large and single but in animals the vacuoles are small in size and many in numbers. This is so because at the time of food deficiency, animals can move from one place to other in search of food but plant cannot. So they need big vacuole for storage as compared to animals.
