Lenticels are small minute pores present on the stem of many woody plants. If loss of water takes (transpiration) places through these lenticels, then such transpiration is called lenticular transpiration.
The major difference between lenticular transpiration and stomatal transpiration is that, in stomatal transpiration the loss of water about 90% is mainly through the small structures called stomata. In lenticular transpiration there is negligible loss of water about 1% is mainly through the small pores called lenticels.
