• He must be more than 35 years of age,

• He can be a member of the parliament or one who has been elected as the governer of the state, the one who was appointed in the Lok sabha or the Rajya sabha of our country. The Vice president, the prime minister or the chief minister can also compete for the presidential post of a country,
• He must not be a part of the profit earning organization.
