Solution

A vector is a DNA molecule which is used to carry a DNA sequence or gene into a cell where it replicates itself into multiple copies or integrate itself into the genome of that cell. Common vectors used in recombinant DNA technology are plasmids, viral vectors, cosmids, BAC (bacterial artificial chromosome), YAC (yeast artificial chromosome) etc.
A host cell is the one where vector is introduced. A bacteria is a host for plasmids, BAC etc. and yeast cell is the host for YAC.
Bacteria is used as a host cell for BAC where it is replicated and multiple copies are produced. Similarly, Yeast cell is a host for YAC.
