Question

what is the meaning of thesse lines

{It does not produce pollution and has more fuel efficiency than gasoline and other fuels.

The only pollutants − Oxides of nitrogen due to the presence of dinitrogen as impurity

Minimization of pollutants − By injection of small amount of water into the cylinder to lower the temperature

As a result, dinitrogen will not react with dioxygen.}

Solution

Dear student, fuel cell does not produce pollution as the side product is water, which is not a pollutant.

Its efficiency is very high i.e. it produces large amount of energy i.e. more than any other fuel known to us.

The only pollutant is the oxides of nitrogen. As air contain nitrogen therefore at elevated temperature side reaction between nitrogen and oxygen also occur. In order to get rid of these pollutant small amount of water is added to the cell which decreases the temperature and hence reaction between nitrogen and oxygen does not occur.
