What is the reason for upthrust ?

Every body has the tendency to not change its state. It always shows a resistance towards the external disturbance. Similarly when we put a solid body in a fluid it shows resistance towards the downward gravitational pull i.e. upthrust. So the upthrust occurs due to fluid resistance from its state.
