What is the reason for yawning and snoring?

Yawning is a process in which we take a deep breath followed by exhalation of breath. The reason for yawning is to take in more oxygen and remove excess of carbon dioxide in our body. Our body, especially our brain needs sufficient oxygen to function properly. When we are sleepy or feeling drowsy our brain is in need of more oxygen, so we yawn to take in large amount of oxygen.

Snoring is a sleeping disorder caused because of because of blockage passage of air through nose or mouth.
Some of the reasons behind snoring are:
1 Blocked nasal passages.
2 If there is deposition of fat in and around the throat.
3 Alcohol relaxes throat relaxant. It relaxes the throat muscles which causes the air passages to become narrower.
