Question

what is the relation between curved surface area and volume (mainly of cube and cuboid)?

Open in App
Solution

Let length of cuboid = l unit
Breadth = b unit
Abd Height = h unit
Then, Surface area of cuboid = 2( l*b + b*h + h*l ) sq. unit
And, Volume of cuboid = l*b*h unit3

In case of cube, all the six face are same size. i.e., l = b = h
Thus,
Surface area of cube = 2( l*l + l*l + l*l) = 6l2 unit2
And, Volume of cube = l*l*l = l3 unit3
