Yes,their is a very important relation between intermolecular spaces and intermolecular forces.The force of attraction between between two different molecules is called as intermolecular forces and during interaction some of the molecule join together to form cage like structure or voids where another molecule can accommodate are called as intermolecular spaces. Hence intermolecular spaces are due to intermolecular forces.
