Question

what is the relationship between hydrochloric acid and zinc?

Open in App
Solution

There is no relationship between hydrochloric acid and zinc. The former is acid and later is a metal.
If they are made to react they will give zinc chloride and hydrogen gas as products. The reaction is as follows:
Zn + 2HCl ZnCl2 + H2
The reaction happens so because Zn being more reactive than hydrogen, displaces it from HCl and give the corresponding products.
