Question

What is the role of atmosphere in climate change

Open in App
Solution

Atmosphere keeps the temperature of our planet in a steady condition, not too much high and not too much low. It prevents the entry of harmful radiation of sun like UV rays into our environment by ozone layer. So in the condition of climate change our atmosphere and its normal composition are disturbed which leads to the devastating situation like global warming and ozone layer depletion. Harmful gases like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide etc in a larger amount has become the part of normal atmosphere which in turn increases the temperature of earth by a process called as global warming. Similarly gases like Chloro fluro carbon (CFCs) damage the ozone layer.
