HNO3 stands for the nitric acid. Here H is hydrogen, N is nitrogen and O is oxygen. When all three elements combine in a ratio of 1:1:3 by number, they form a compound called nitric acid.

Nitric acid is strong mineral acid. Which is corrosive in nature, it is usually colorless but attains a pale yellow colour when left for a few days.
