The Preamble highlights few fundamental rights and principals on which the Constitution of India is based. The few opening words of the Preamble are "We, the people" the statement itself signifies that power is vested in the hands of the people of India.

The Preamble of India states that India is a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic and republic country where citizens have equal right to Justice, they have the Liberty of expression and every individual is secular.

Secularism implies to religious tolerance, there by anyone can practice and preach any religion of his or her choice. Everyone is equal in the eye of law.
