Solution
To gain control over the trade and export of Indian industries, English East India Company enforced certain procedures
The Company tried to eliminate existing brokers and traders connected with cloth trade
Thus, it established direct control on the weaver
Gomasthas were appointed to supervises these weavers, collect their supplies, etc
It prevented the weavers from dealing with other buyers other than Company
This was done through system of advances
As soon as the order was placed, weavers were given loans to purchase raw materials for production
Those weavers who took loans has to hand over the final product to gomasthas and not hand over to any other trader or buyer
