Question

What is the use of neutrons in an electric circuit?

Open in App
Solution

Every matter is made up of atoms. It has three particles-electron (negative),proton (positive) and neutron (neutral).
In an electric circuit, current is due to moving electrons. Neutron has no role in this. The electrons near the nucleus are held tight to the atom. Sometimes, the ones farthest away are not. We can push some of these electrons out of their energy levels. Thus
moving electrons generate electricity.
