Solution
A simple microscope enlarges an object through angular magnification resulting in an enlarged erect image. A compound microscope is the one which uses a lens near the object and a real image is focussed on to the other lens inside the microscope. The second lens magnifies the image resulting in enlarged, inverted and virtual image of the object. A convex lens is used in simple as well as compound microscope.
