The New laws made by government to protect the environment after the Bhopal gas tragedy are :

1. The Environment Protection Act, 1986
2. Hazardous Waste (Management and Handling) Rules, 1989

Government made several other laws to protect specific areas of environment like ozone layer, genetically modified organism etc. under the umbrella act of 1986. Lately government has established National Green tribunal to expedite the disputes related to environment.
