Solution

Marlyebone Cricket Club (MCC) was founded in 1787. MCC published its first revision of laws in 1788 which bought significant changes in the game. Some of those changes were :

  • The curved bat was replaced with a straight one.
  • The weight of the ball and width of bat were changed.
  • Protective equipment like pads etc was made available.

With such significant changes MCC became the guardian of cricket regulations.
