  1. Direct means
  1. Direct contact: ex AIDS, eye infections, leprosy
  2. Contact with soil: ex tetanus caused by hookworm larvae
  3. Inoculation: Inoculation of infectious agent by syringes or needles like syphilis, AIDS, hepatitis B
  4. Droplets: Ex tuberculosis
  1. Indirect means
Ex: typhoid which is transmitted by flies which serve as vector.
