1. First of all government should identify all the industries in vicinity of rivers and strict laws of full treatment of waste water before disposal should be enforced on them.
2.The continues assessment of qualitative and quantitative change in river water should be done by government.
3.Investigation of ground water quality, construction of proper sanitary landfill sites and waste management are some of the steps need to be taken.
4.The agriculture water full of pesticides and insecticides are drained in rivers.There is urgent need to check on it.It is affecting whole food chain.
5.Pollution of some important rivers like Ganga, Yammuna are taking place due to industrial waste disposal, urban waste disposal and religious rituals.Immediate check is needed on them too.
