what type of barrier is copper T ? is it mechanical or chemical barrier?

Dear Student, Copper T is IUCD (Intra Uterine Contraceptive Device). It does not act as barrier for the entry of sperms in female reproductive tract. So, it not a form of barrier. It simply decreases the viability of sperms entering the female reproductive tract and prevents implantation. The physical or mechanical barriers are condoms, cervical caps etc.
