Question

what will be the density if barium chloride is .5gm+potassium chloride is.3gm+ sodium chloride is.2gm in 1 kg mass

Open in App
Solution

Data seems insufficient, however in case of water as solvent,
Here, mass of solvent = 1 Kg (for water volume = 1L)
Moles of BaCl2 =0.5/208 =0.002
Moles of KCl = 0.3/74.5 =0.004
Moles of NaCl =0.2/58.5 =0.003
So , total moles of solute = 0.002+0.004+0.003 =0.009
Hence, molality = moles/ mass of solvent = 0.009/1Kg = 0.009 m
Molarity = moles / volume of solution
Since, 0.001 g(mass of solutes)<<< mass of solvent 1 kg
So, mass of solution = mass of solvent
Hence, molarity = 0.009/1L = 0.009M
Density = molaruity/molality = 0.009M/0.009m = 1 gm/cm3
