Question

what will be the nature of velocity -time graph for a uniform motion

Open in App
Solution

A v-t graph shows the variation of velocity with time for a moving object, which for uniform motion would be a straight line. This means that the acceleration wold be zero as the velocity does not change. Now, we can use a v-t graph to calculate the net displacement caused in an object by calculating the area under the curve, which will be equal to s = v x t. Also for a non-uniform motion the acceleration can also be calculated between two points by using this simple relation

a = (v2 - v1) / (t2 - t1).
