Question

what would happen if a soap bubble receives charge.

Open in App
Solution

Generally, a soap bubble remains in equilibrium, due to the force of surface tension and a force acting outwards perpendicular to the surface of bubble.
When a soap bubble receives charge, it gets distributed uniformly over the entire surface of the bubble. The force of repulsion acts between the uniformly distributed like charges, which try to expand the soap bubble. This results in an increases in the size of the bubble.
