Solution

Cotyledon is a significant part of the embryo within the seed of the plant. When the seed germinates , these become the first enbryonic leaves of the plant.
On the basis of the number of cotyledons, angiosperms are divided into two classes:
Monocots:
Embryo with one cotyledon, usually develop under ground
Roots fibrous
Growth herbaceous
Scattered vascular bundles
Parallel venation in leaves
Flower parts in multiples of three

Dicots:
Embryo with two cotyledons, usually develops above ground
Tap roots
Growth herabceous or woody
Vascular bundles in a ring
Reticulate venation in leaves
Flower parts usually 4 or 5
