According to law of conservation of Mass; the total mass of is constant during a chemical reaction, i.e,

total mass of reactant = total mass of products.

Thus, any reaction can occur only when the mass of reactant used and product formed are equal.

so, in the given question, for the formation of CaO

the mass of reactants = mass of Ca + mass of O2 = 5gm + 20gm = 25gm

Thus, the mass of product CaO= Mass of reactant = 25 gm.
