Question

when a body is undergoing rolling motion each and every particle of the body possesses both rotational as well astranslational motion but in translational motion the velocity of every particle remains the same but it isn't so for rotational motion then how can we say that every particle of the body which undergoes rolling motion possesses both rotational as well astranslational motion?

Solution

because rolling consist of both translational motion and rotating motion.

in rotational motion particles move about a point(center).in translational motion particles move along a linear axis.

but in rolling motion particles are moving along a linear axis and also about the center.that's how we can say that every particle of the body which undergoes rolling motion possesses both rotational as well as translational motion.
