When a capacitor is connected in parallel tp a resistance in rectifier one gets dc voltage .Why it is so explain.

We know capacitor block dc and allows ac to pass from itself.
In rectifier when capacitor is placed parallel to resistance then ac passes through capacitor and dc passes through the resistance so we get desired out put near the resistance.
