when a spinwheel is placed in a discharge tube why does the it rotate in direction of athode rays and not anode rays?

Solution

Cathode ray is the flow of electrons. Electron has mass and hence possessed momentum. Thus when cathode ray falls on some spin wheel, it rotates.

Anode ray also have mass, and possess momentum. So it will rotate spin wheel as well.
