Solution

Hi Antriksh!

The atmosphere exerts pressure on the surface of the Earth and everything over it. The atmosphere cannot exert pressure on the space. The atmospheric pressure is the weight of the atmosphere over the surface of the earth. This weight is caused by the gravitational pull of the earth. As the atmosphere is attracted to the earth, it cannot exert pressure in the space.
