Question

when there is no rain , why rainbow does not appear?

Open in App
Solution

Hi Ram!

A rainbow is formed when white light is dispersed naturally. The rain drops act as dispersers while the Sunlight fall on them. We see the spectrum (dispersed band of seven colours) as a streak of rainbow across the sky. If the moisture content in the atmosphere is high, then rainbow can be formed. This is the cause of rainbow formation at places near to waterfall.

Cheers!!
