when was buckminsterfullerene discovered
The fullerenes, discovered in 1985 by researchers at Rice University, are a family of carbon allotropes named after Buckminster Fuller.
It is the purest form of carbon is Fullerene. They do not have surface bonds that are to be attracted by other atoms as we see in the case of diamond and graphite.
Fullerenes are pure carbon’s that are in the shape of spherical hollow cage like a soccer ball with 60 carbon atoms. It is the only pure form of molecular carbon utilized by our body.
