Question

When we put a blue litmus paper in an acid it will turn red, what will happen if the very same litmus paper which is half red in colour is dipped in a base? will the red part of the paper remain red or will it become blue in colour?

Solution

On dipping half red coloured litmus paper in base then the red litmus will turn blue in colour. No matter if it is dipped in acid before the resultant colour will depend on the solution in which litmus is dipped at the end.
