when we we make any iron piece a magnet,is that iron piece also have north and south poles?
Yes. When we magnetize an iron piece, the iron piece also develops North and South poles to behave like a magnet.
In a ferromagnetic material like iron, there are magnetic domains which are aligned in random directions. These magnetic domains behave like tiny magnets that can be modified to magnetize the material. During the process of magnetization the external magnetic field aligns these magnetic domains along a common direction which makes the iron piece a magnet.
