which is heavier SO2 molecule or one CO2 molecule

Open in App
Solution

The molecular mass of SO2 is ( 32 + 16 × 2) = 64 g per mole
And molecular mass of CO2 is ( 12 + 16 × 2) = 44 g per mole.
Which means the mass of 1 mole of SO2 is 64 g and that of CO2 is 44 g. This indicates that the mass of 1 moleule of SO2 is more than CO2.
